Definition of CCS

Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) is a so called markup language and mainly responsible for the design of a web page. In combination with HTML and XML it assigns the graphical appearance to the context. Thereby similar contents of certain output media like monitors, printer, PDAs or mobile phones can be represented differently. And last but not least the optical appearance of each page can be changed without affecting the content.

Definition of PHP

PHP („PHP: Hypertext Preprocessor“) is a scripting language that mainly goes into action when creating a dynamic internet page and web applications. Most of the time it is embedded in the HTML-Code of the web site. PHP allows the developer to integrate databases, flash-animations and other dynamic contents without requiring other dynamic contents of the browser of the viewer, like it would be when using JavaScript.

Definition of MySQL?

MySQL is a database system, which derives its name from a used standard – Structured Query Language. It allows the building, processing, connection and request of many tables of a database. MySQL is often used together with the web server Apache and PHP and builds with this the basis of many web appearances. On the strength of its good performance, high reliability and user-friendliness MySQL is said to be the most popular open-source-database worldwide.

Definition of AJAX

AJAX (Asynchronous JavaScript and XML) makes it possible to perform single actions, for example a database request, without having to reload the whole page. Thereby interactive, desktop similar applications like calculations or auto integrations can be realised, without having to install plugins – like it would be when using Java Applets.
